Isha Sharvani was born on 29 September 1984 in Ahmedabad and spent her childhood moving between several Indian cities before the family settled in Trivandrum, Kerala. Her mother, Daksha Sheth, is an Indian classical dancer who played a central role in Isha’s early artistic education. Her father, Dev Issaro, comes from an Australian business family and later embraced Buddhist practice and Hindustani classical music.

Her parents founded the Academy for Art Research, Training and Innovation (AARTI) in Trivandrum in 1989, providing an environment rich in dance and music. To accommodate intensive training, Isha pursued distance schooling through the Australian School of Isolated and Distance Education. From a young age she trained in a variety of Indian dance and martial traditions, including Kalaripayattu, Kathak, Chhau and later Mallakhamba, guided primarily by her mother.

She made her acting debut in the Hindi feature Kisna: The Warrior Poet (2005), where she was chosen for her exceptional dance ability.
