Early life and backgroundJaclyn Nesheiwat Stapp was born on July 29, 1980, in Carmel, New York, and grew up in Umatilla, Florida. The daughter of Ben and Hayat Nesheiwat, she was raised in a household shaped by her mother's determination after her father died when Jaclyn was young. She attended Umatilla High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in marketing and communication from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida.
Stapp has described a childhood where her appearance and heritage sometimes led to teasing, and she began participating in pageants as a teenager. While in college she worked multiple jobs to help support her family, including a role at Disney World, and continued modeling and promotional work while completing her studies.
