Early life and background

Jaismine Lamboriya was born on 30 August 2001 in Mehtab Dass Ki Dhani, Bhiwani, Haryana. She grew up in Bhiwani, a town noted for its strong boxing culture, and was surrounded by the sport from an early age. Boxing conversations and local role models shaped her ambitions; stories of Vijender Singh and Mary Kom’s Olympic success helped convince her that a career in the sport was possible.

Her family background is closely tied to athletics. Her father, Jaivir Lamboriya, worked as a home guard on a contract basis, and her mother, Joginder Kaur, is a homemaker. Jaismine has two sisters; the elder of them is a physiotherapist. Several relatives were already involved in boxing and wrestling. Her grandfather, Chandraban, was in the army and was a wrestler, and two paternal uncles, Sandeep and Parvinder (Pravinder), were instrumental in her entry into the sport.

In 2021 she earned a bronze medal at the Asian Boxing Championship in Dubai. That same year she took silver at the Boxam International Boxing Tournament in Spain, competing in the 57 kg category for that event.

Her development included overcoming setbacks. After testing positive for COVID-19, Jaismine experienced a drop in fitness and an increase in weight to about 63 kg. Over the following months she worked to regain her condition and reduced her weight back to approximately 60 kg, recovering her form for competition.
