Janhvi Kapoor was born on 7 March 1997 in Mumbai and grew up in the city. The daughter of film producer Boney Kapoor and actor Sridevi, she spent her formative years around the film industry but also pursued formal training in acting. She attended Ecole Mondiale World School in Mumbai and later studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in California.
