Early life and background

Jayashree Ramaiah was born on 13 November 1990 in Kerala. She attended St. Joseph’s High School and went on to graduate from Jain Deemed-to-be University in Bengaluru. Her nationality was Indian and she was a Scorpio by zodiac sign. She was known to have black hair and black eyes and stood about 163 cm (5'4") tall.

Career

Ramaiah worked as a model and actor, primarily in the Kannada film industry. Her on-screen debut came in the 2017 Kannada film Uppu Huli Khara, in which she appeared as a character credited with her own name. She later featured in the 2019 film Kannad Gothilla directed by Mayuraa Raghavendra and also appeared in the 2019 Kannada music video Olledallappo.

In 2015 she took part in the reality television show Bigg Boss 3 Kannada, where she was eliminated in the second week. At the time of her death she was reported to be shooting for a film titled Shiradi Ghat, which was listed as under production.

Public profile

Ramaiah discussed personal subjects publicly on occasion. She spoke in interviews about the close relationship with her mother, describing her as a pillar of strength whose advice she sought for important decisions. In 2019 she lodged a police complaint alleging physical and sexual harassment by a maternal uncle; the uncle denied the accusations.

She also spoke openly about struggling with depression. In July 2020 she posted troubling messages on social media expressing suicidal thoughts, then later posted that she was safe. In a live video she said she was dealing with longstanding personal issues and depression and denied that her statements were an attempt at publicity.

Personal life and death

Jayashree Ramaiah was unmarried. On 24 January 2021 she was found dead at her home in Pragathi Layout on Magadi Road in Bengaluru. She was 30 years old at the time. Local authorities reported that her body was sent for postmortem and that an investigation was opened. Reports indicate that she had been receiving treatment for depression and that she spent time living in an old-age home during her final period.
