Chiranjeev Bedi, who works professionally as Jeeva, was born on 31 May 1989 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Raised in a family connected to the film industry, he is the son of actor Ranjeet and his mother, Aloka Bedi, is described as a homemaker. Jeeva grew up in Mumbai and holds Indian nationality. He has one sibling, a sister named Divyanka Bedi.

As a child he had early exposure to films; he appeared as Jyoti’s son in the 1990 film Kaaranama. Despite that early appearance, he was not initially drawn to acting. During his youth he explored film direction before deciding to pursue acting as a profession.
