Early life and background

Jetshen Dohna Lama was born on 27 April 2013 in Pakyong district, Sikkim, and grew up in the same region. She attended El-Bethel Academy in Pakyong. From a very early age she showed an interest in music; reports indicate she began singing around the age of three and was inspired by songs from animated films. She lists swimming, painting, playing snooker and hula hoop among her hobbies.

Family

Jetshen is the daughter of Roshan Lama and Younis Hamal Lama and has an elder sister. Her hometown is Pakyong, Sikkim, where she received much of her early musical training.

Jetshen trained initially with Nagen Chhetri at the Pakyong Music Institute and later received instruction from Reemanti Rai at the Remanti Sangeetalaya Academy in Gangtok. Her public performing record includes a local appearance at the pre-event for the 6th Sikkim Run in Gangtok in October 2021.
