Early life and background

Jitin Gulati was born on 8 April 1980 in Faridabad, India. He completed his schooling at Apeejay School in Faridabad and earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Hansraj College, Delhi University. Raised by parents Jagdish Gulati, a retired Indian Navy officer, and Jyoti Gulati, a retired teacher, he has two sisters, Pooja and Nikita, both of whom work in banking. As of 2023 he is unmarried.

Career

After college, Gulati entered the banking sector and worked at HDFC Bank in Mumbai for eight years. While employed there he trained in acting at Barry John Acting Studio and took lessons from theatre practitioners including Feizal Alkazi and Amal Allana. He has also undertaken extended dance training under choreographer Ashley Lobo.

Gulati left banking to pursue acting and modelling full time. Early screen work included the 2010 short film Amen, followed by other short films such as Looking For Gay Bollywood (2012) and Angry Indian Goddesses (2015). He made his feature-film debut in Warning (2013) as Deepak Sharma and had a small appearance in M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016). He also appeared in Qaidi Band (2017) and the short silent romance Sisak (2017), which received recognition on the international festival circuit.

On television and streaming platforms, Gulati has a steady body of work. He was seen in 24 (India) Season 2 (2016) and has been cast in several web series, including Inside Edge, Thinkistan (where he played Shaayan in 2019), Broken But Beautiful (2018), Prithvi Vallabh: Itihaas Bhi, Rahasya Bhi (2018), Zindagi inShort (2020), and Salt City (2022) in which he played Sukesh Sood. In 2021 he appeared in the series Chhatrasal, which received multiple Filmfare OTT nominations, and that year he also played Shahnawaz in the short film Sheer Qorma. In 2023 he was seen as Saadiq Kadri in Bambai Meri Jaan and as Balwant Bir Rana in Kaala.
