Early life and background
Kamlesh Nanasaheb Ghumare was born in 1996 in Devarpade, Malegaon, Maharashtra. Raised in a farming family, he grew up in a rural setting where agricultural work was part of daily life. He attended NS Deshmukh Vidyalaya in Chikhal, Malegaon, and later enrolled at Maharaja Sayajirao Gaikwad College in Malegaon. Kamlesh left his BCA studies in the second year and returned to his hometown.

Career
Kamlesh’s early ambitions included preparing for a career in the Indian Army, and he made multiple attempts at entrance exams. After a period of injury interrupted those plans, he explored other interests such as acting and singing, taking part in college competitions and briefly trying his luck with auditions in Mumbai. He ultimately returned to his village and tried several ventures, including running a small hotel.

Following setbacks — including a fraudulent promise of a government job that cost him money and local controversy that affected his reputation — Kamlesh struggled with depression and even attempted to take his own life twice. With encouragement from his family he went back to work on the family farms. While helping his father, he observed the health problems caused by pesticide spraying and decided to build a safer, easier-to-use spraying solution.

Though not formally trained as an engineer, Kamlesh taught himself by collecting spare parts and repurposing materials. Over the course of about seven years he evolved an improvised pesticides trolley into a refined product. A video of one of his trolleys went viral in 2017, bringing media attention and offers from companies; he chose not to accept those early proposals. Instead, he founded KG Agrotech to produce and market his agricultural equipment.

Kamlesh’s appearance on national television further raised his profile. After seeing a promo for the show Shark Tank, he auditioned and reached the televised pitch stage in 2022. He presented his product and the problem it addresses — the health risks farmers face from pesticide exposure — and emphasized his desire for independence over working as an employee. One investor, Peyush Bansal, agreed to invest and offered Rs. 10 lakh for a 40% stake in KG Agrotech, along with a zero-interest loan of Rs. 20 lakh. Kamlesh and Peyush later discussed a product launch during a live Instagram conversation.

Outside of his agricultural work, Kamlesh has taken part in a few acting projects, including the web series Patang Premacha and a short film titled Kaal. He also shared his life experiences in a 2022 appearance on Josh Talks.
