Early life and backgroundKabir Duhan Singh was born on 8 September 1986 in Katwal village, Gohana tehsil, Sonipat district of Haryana. He completed his schooling at Vidya Mandir Public School in Faridabad and graduated from Delhi University in 2008. Raised in a middle-class family, Kabir has said his father supported and encouraged him during difficult phases of his career.
Before entering films he pursued modelling seriously. To pay for an initial portfolio he worked in a call centre and borrowed a small amount from his father. Those early efforts led to success in national modelling auditions and frequent appearances at Lakme Fashion Week, where he modeled across multiple editions and secured an international contract that took him to South Africa.
Career
Kabir began his professional life as a model and went on to participate in more than 350 fashion events. He transitioned into acting after some stage work; an early Hindi project with Shiney Ahuja was shelved, and his screen debut came in Telugu cinema in 2015 with the film Jil. His antagonist character in that film attracted attention and paved the way for a steady stream of roles across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi films.

He appeared in films such as Kick 2, Vedalam, Dictator, Sardar Gabbar Singh and Rekka. In 2017 he made his Kannada film debut with Hebbuli, and he continued to take on strong negative roles in films including Saakshyam and Pehlwaan. His portrayal of a boxer named Tony in Pehlwaan (2019) earned wide praise.
Kabir extended his work into Bollywood with Khaali Peeli (2020) and later filmed Bole Chudiyan, which featured prominent cast members and was scheduled for release in 2023. He has also acted in a Bangladeshi film shot partly in Turkey and Bangladesh, and in 2021 he starred as Raavan in the web series Ramyug on MX Player, a role for which he researched Raavan Samhita. Recent years saw him in films such as Indrani (2022), Saakini Daakini (2022), Shaakuntalam (2023) and projects in Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam industries, including ARM and Kabzaa. He began shooting his first Punjabi film in 2023.
Throughout his career Kabir has gained recognition specifically for villain roles and for the physical preparation he brings to them.
