Early life and backgroundVarinder Pal Singh, better known by his stage name Kaka Kautki or Kaka Mansa, was born on 24 August 1984 in Dashmesh Nagar, Mansa, Punjab. He grew up in a household connected to performing arts: his mother, Rajinder Kaur Dani, worked as a theatre artist and introduced him to the stage at a very young age. Kaka gave his first theatre performance at around six years old, playing the role of a Muslim child after being invited to join a local production.
He attended Dashmesh Public School in Mansa and continued his studies at Nehru Memorial Government College. For higher education he went to Government Mohindra College in Patiala, where he completed a BA and an MA in Theatre. It was during his college years that the nickname Kaka Kautki, originally used by a friend, stuck and became the name by which he was widely known.

Kaka began his professional acting career in theatre and moved into Punjabi cinema with his film debut in Kabaddi Ikk Mohabbat (2010), credited as Veerinder Singh. Over the following decade he became a familiar face in supporting roles, often cast as a father or uncle. His performance and a memorable line in Bhajjo Veero Ve (2018) brought him broader recognition.
