Kanak Yadav was born on 29 August and raised in Parampurwa, Amraudha in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. She comes from a middle-class family with a background in government service; her father, R.N. Singh Yadav, served as a police officer. Kanak completed a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and grew up with interests that included travel, swimming, reading and music. A follower of Hinduism and an adherent devotee of Lord Shiva, she is also committed to fitness and regularly practices yoga.

Kanak began her public career after winning regional beauty titles in 2008, including Miss Noida and Miss Beautiful Smile. Those early recognitions led to offers in television and she trained in dance before launching her acting career.
