Kanishka Soni was born on 16 August 1987 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. She attended Kendriya Vidyalaya in Shahibaug, Ahmedabad, and went on to complete higher studies that include an MBA in finance from Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, Pune, a postgraduate finance qualification from the Institute of Business Studies & Research in Mumbai, and a yoga teacher training course in Rishikesh. She grew up taking part in extracurricular activities such as dance, singing, drama and sports, interests that later fed into her professional life.

Soni began her working life in administrative and accounts roles before turning to modelling and acting.
