Kanwar Dhillon was born on 15 March 1993 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He grew up in the city where his family lived; his father is actor Deep Dhillon and his mother, Radha Dhillon, is a homemaker. He has an older brother named Karan Dhillon. Kanwar completed his higher education at Thakur College of Science and Commerce in Mumbai, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media (BMM).

From a young age he was drawn to acting and theatre, influenced in part by his father’s work.
