Early life and background
Karan Kundrra was born on 11 October 1984 in Jalandhar, Punjab, India. He is the only son in a family with three sisters: Poonam Malhotra, Meenu Kundrra and Madhu Kundrra. His father, S. P. Kundra, is described as a businessman and his mother, Suneeta (Sunita) Kundra, is a homemaker. Kundrra completed his schooling at Mayo College, Ajmer, Rajasthan, and later pursued an MBA in Florida, United States.

Kundrra's early adult life included a spell working with his father's business, a first job that he received as a teenager. He also took part in male pageantry and was a finalist in the Mr. India contest, where he won a Mr. Stylish Statement title.

Career
Karan Kundrra made an early breakthrough on television when he was cast as the lead in the romantic drama Kitani Mohabbat Hai, playing the character Arjun Punj. He was reportedly selected for that role without auditioning after being noticed from a Facebook photo. His on-screen pairing with co-star Kritika Kamra drew considerable attention and popularity.

Following his debut, Kundrra continued to work steadily across fiction series, reality shows and hosting roles. He played Veeru in Betaab Dil Ki Tamanna, and later returned to the Kitani Mohabbat Hai franchise in its second season as Arjun Singhania. In 2012 he portrayed Karan Kapoor in Teri Meri Love Story and went on to host Gumrah – End Of Innocence Season 2.

Kundrra's television work has included roles in Aahat and Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum, where he played Rahul Sabharwal in 2015. He hosted Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya in 2015–16 and was associated with MTV’s Roadies franchise as a gang leader across multiple seasons, as well as hosting MTV Love School (seasons 2, 3 and 4). He appeared as Hrithik in the serial Dil Hi Toh Hai in 2018 and was cast as Ranveer Chauhan in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai in 2021. Kundrra has also appeared as a contestant on reality formats, notably Bigg Boss 15, where he formed a friendship with fellow contestant Tejasswi Prakash.

On the big screen, Kundrra has worked in films as well as regional cinema. He appeared in the 2013 film Horror Story as Neil and acted in the Punjabi film Mere Yaar Kaminey in 2014. He has also been involved in music projects, including the 2022 song “Kamle” released on 15 March 2022 with Akasha, and has worked on other album songs.
