Early life and background
Karan V Grover was born on 22 June 1982 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Raised in the city where he would later build his career, he attended St. Xavier's High School and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Vidyalaya in Mumbai. For higher studies he enrolled at the Bombay Institute of Technology and also completed a course at the National Institute of Event Management in Pune. His formal education included a degree in chemical engineering and training in event management.

Career
Karan began his professional life working in event management and as a VJ for Zee Music before transitioning to acting. He first came to public attention with the StarPlus drama Saarrthi (2004), which brought him early recognition as an actor. Over the following years he appeared in several mainstream television shows, including Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni (2007–08), Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki (2007–09), Yahaaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli (2009–12), Hum Aapke Hain In Laws (2013) and Punar Vivah (2013).

On screen he has explored a variety of formats and genres. He made his film debut in Wedding Pullav (2015) and broadened his range with web series work in 2018, appearing in Spotlight 2 as a rock musician and in Vodka Shots as a character struggling with addiction. Television roles after that included playing a surgeon, Dr. Rohit Sippy, in Star Plus’s Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum (2019) and a scientist, Shantanu Kant, in Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant (2016). In 2021 he joined the Colors series Udaariyaan as Angad, a role he took up after being approached by the show’s producers and fellow actors Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta.

Karan has also participated in reality television and entertainment programming. Earlier in his career he contested in the Gladrags Manhunt Contest and finished among the top five finalists. He appeared on the dance reality show Nach Baliye 3 in 2007 with then-partner Kavita Kaushik. In addition to scripted television and web work, Karan has performed in comedic short videos for the YouTube channel SIT (Shitty Ideas Trending).
