Early life and background

Karishma Lala Sharma was born on 22 December 1993 in Mumbai. She spent parts of her childhood living in Delhi and Patna before returning to Mumbai. She studied at Symbiosis University in Pune. Trained in classical singing for three years and as a pianist, she initially nurtured ambitions in music and participated in singing competitions during her school years.

Career

Sharma began working in the Hindi entertainment industry with early behind-the-scenes experience as an assistant director on the 2013 film D-Day. Her on-screen debut came in television: in 2014 she appeared as Pia Arjun Kirloskar in Pavitra Rishta and also made episodic appearances in other TV shows that year, including Fear Files and Ye Hai Mohabbatein. She continued to take supporting television roles through 2016, including Silasila Pyaar Ka, and appeared in episodic television horror earlier in her career.

Her film debut followed in 2015 with a role in Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2.
