Kaushal Manda was born on 13 May 1981 in Vizag (Visakhapatnam), Andhra Pradesh, India. Raised in his hometown, he attended B H V High School and went on to study at Andhra University. His formal technical education includes a B.Tech and a diploma in metallurgical engineering. He is Indian by nationality and his sun sign is Taurus.

Kaushal showed an early interest in performance: he began appearing on television as a child artist and developed additional skills later through formal training. He took acting lessons at the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute in Mumbai and completed a crash course in direction at the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune.
