Michele Anne Mason, known professionally as Kendra Lust, was born on September 18, 1978, in Madison Heights, Michigan. Raised in the Detroit area, she later attended the University of Michigan and earned a degree in nursing. Before moving into adult entertainment, she worked as a nurse for seven years.

Kendra began her on-screen adult career in 2012. Prior to filming, she had short stints in related work: she spent about three months as a webcam model and also stripped for roughly eighteen months during college to help pay tuition.
