Kimi Verma was born on 20 November 1977 in Punjab and grew up in a family with ties to photography; her father is Krishan Kamal and her mother is Kamaljit Kaur. She attended Guru Hargobind Public School, Sidhwan Khurd, and later moved to Mumbai for higher education, where she studied at Mithibai College and Mumbai University and completed a B.Com followed by an M.B.A.

Career

Kimi began appearing in films at a young age and made her Punjabi film debut in 1994, portraying the title character in Nasibo. Over the years she became a familiar face in Punjabi cinema with roles in films including Qahar (1997), Shaheed Udham Singh (2000), Jee Aayan Nu (2002), Mera Pind - My Home (2008) and Ajj De Ranjhe (2012). After a multi-year break from acting she returned to the screen as part of the cast of Parvaaz: The Journey, a film slated for release in 2021.

Before and alongside her film work, Kimi had an extensive modelling career. While living in Mumbai she modelled for numerous advertising campaigns and is reported to have been featured in more than 100 ads for brands such as Sunsilk, HSBC, Clinic Plus, Liberty and Nescafe. She worked internationally as a model in markets including the United Kingdom, Egypt and Sri Lanka.
