Kiran Gosavi Biography

Kiran P. Gosavi is an Indian private investigator from Maharashtra who came into the public eye as a witness in the 2021 Cordelia cruise ship drug case. He

Early life and background
Kiran P. Gosavi is a private investigator from Maharashtra, India. Public records identify Maharashtra as both his birthplace and hometown. Basic physical details reported for Gosavi include a height of approximately 173 cm (about 5 feet 8 inches), black eyes and a bald head. He holds Indian nationality.

Career
Gosavi worked as a private investigator and was publicly identified as an informant connected to the Narcotics Control Bureau during the Cordelia cruise ship drug raid in October 2021. His presence on the cruise and subsequent appearance alongside agency officials brought him widespread media attention. Photographs of him with one of the accused, and later at a police facility, circulated widely after the incident.

Controversies and legal issues
Gosavi has been associated with multiple legal complaints. Prior to 2021, several FIRs were reportedly filed against him in different parts of Maharashtra stemming from allegations that he solicited money from job-seekers by promising employment abroad and issuing fraudulent travel documents. One such case involved an accusation that he took Rs. 3.09 lakhs from a complainant in connection with a promised job in Malaysia.

In the aftermath of the cruise-ship operation, questions were raised about the role of a private citizen accompanying law enforcement during an investigation. Political figures and others pressed authorities for clarification about how Gosavi was present during the raid and why he appeared in official settings. Separate allegations also emerged suggesting attempts to extract large sums from those involved in the case; a former employee and driver of Gosavi alleged overhearing discussions about monetary demands linked to the matter.

Following the publicity around the raid, Gosavi reported concerns for his safety and expressed a desire to surrender to authorities in another state. Law-enforcement officials noted jurisdictional constraints around such a move. A few days after offering to surrender elsewhere, Gosavi was arrested by Pune police in late October 2021 in connection with a 2018 cheating case tied to a company he operated, where complainants said they had been duped by promises of overseas employment.

Public profile
Gosavi became widely known because of his involvement as a witness in a high-profile narcotics investigation. Media coverage highlighted his role as an informant to a zonal director of the Narcotics Control Bureau and focused on the photographs and videos that showed him at the scene and at NCB premises. The sequence of events prompted political scrutiny and public debate about transparency and conduct during the operation.

Latest updates
In October 2021 Gosavi publicly stated he would surrender in Lucknow, citing fears for his safety in Mumbai. Uttar Pradesh police later clarified they lacked jurisdiction to take action in that matter. Shortly thereafter, Pune police arrested him in connection with an earlier cheating case linked to an enterprise named in reports as KPG Dreamz Solutions, which had promised overseas job placements to clients who later alleged fraud.
