Kiran Juneja was born on 10 February 1964 in Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi. Raised in a middle-class family, her childhood included a period when the family relocated to Chandigarh. After completing her studies at Delhi University she moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

Career

Juneja began her professional life in Mumbai as a model, working on print assignments for brands before transitioning into acting. Her screen debut came in 1984 with the film Shaheen, and she made her television debut the same year in the serial Paying Guest.

Across a career spanning decades she has appeared in both television and film. On television she earned recognition for roles in Buniyaad and is widely remembered for portraying Ganga in the 1988 epic television adaptation of Mahabharat. In 1997 she also served as a television host for The Kiran Joneja Show.
