Kiran Rathod was born on 11 January 1986 in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Raised in a Rajput family, she later moved to Mumbai for her education and career. She completed a Bachelor of Arts and attended Mithibai College of Arts as well as Chauhan Institute of Science & Amrutben Jivanlal College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai.

Kiran’s given name at birth was Kira; she later modified it to Kiran when she began working in South Indian cinema. She grew up with a younger brother and is related to film personalities through her extended family, including cousins Raveena Tandon and Amjad Khan.
