Early life and background

Kollam Sudhi was born on 1 January 1984 in Kochi, Kerala. Raised in a family headed by his father, Shivdasna Sudhi, who worked as a revenue inspector with the Cochin Corporation, and his mother, Gomathi, Sudhi grew up alongside siblings that included an elder sister, an older brother and a younger brother named Subhash, who later passed away. Career

Sudhi developed his skills as a mimicry artist and performer from a young age, beginning to entertain local audiences at around 16. He performed in stage shows and skits at regional festivals and supplemented his mimicry with singing at events. Over time he became known for his comic acts on Malayalam television, appearing on shows such as Kerala Cafe (2017, Asianet), Comedy Nights with Suraj (2019, Zee Keralam) and Star Comedy Magic (2022, Flowers).

His work extended into films as well, where he took small roles and supporting parts. His film debut came with a brief role in Kanthari (2015), and he went on to appear in titles including Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan (2016), Kuttanadan Marpappa (2018), Theetta Rappai (2018), Big Brother (2020) and Escape (2022). Sudhi married young and had two marriages over the course of his life. From his first marriage he had a son, Rahul. That marriage ended in divorce; his former wife later remarried and subsequently died by suicide. Years after the divorce Sudhi met Renu, and the two married. Sudhi and Renu had a son, Rithul. At the time of his death he was married and had two sons.

Later years and death

On 5 June 2023, at age 39, Kollam Sudhi died in a road accident in Kaipamangalam, in the Thrissur district of Kerala. He was driving when his car collided head-on with a truck in the early hours of the morning. Three friends who were traveling with him—Ullas Aroor, Binu Adimali and Mahesh—sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized. Local authorities reported that all occupants were taken to hospital, and Sudhi did not survive the crash.

Legacy

Sudhi’s career spanned stage, television and cinema, and he remained connected to his audience through live performance and digital clips uploaded to his YouTube channel. Colleagues and viewers remembered him for his comic timing and the years he spent building a presence in Kerala’s comedy and mimicry scene.
