Early life and background

Krishan Kumar Dua was born in Daryaganj, Shahjahanabad, and grew up in a Punjabi family that settled in Delhi after the partition of India. His family later made Mumbai their home, and Krishans upbringing has been described as middle-class. His father is Chandrabhan, who worked as a fruit seller. Krishans elder brother was Gulshan Kumar, the founder of T-Series.

Career

Krishan Kumar started his film career as an actor in the early 1990s. His first credited screen role was in the 1993 romantic thriller Aaja Meri Jaan, in which he played a character named Chand Kapoor. He also appeared in Kasam Teri Kasam and Shabnam that same year. Though those early projects failed to make a commercial impact, Krishan achieved widespread recognition with his portrayal of Sundar Sehgal in the musical thriller Bewafa Sanam (1995), a film that brought him substantial popularity.

Following a later acting turn in Papa The Great (2000), Krishan stepped away from acting and moved toward film production and studio responsibilities. He has produced a number of mainstream Hindi films, including Lucky: No Time for Love (credited as his producing debut in 2005), Humko Deewana Kar Gaye (2006), Darling (2007), Nautanki Saala! (2013), Airlift (2016), Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018), and Marjaavaan (2019).
