Early life and background
Kuldeep Bishnoi was born on 22 September 1968 in Mandi Adampur in Hisar district, Haryana. He grew up in a family with a strong political legacy: his father, Bhajan Lal, served multiple terms as Chief Minister of Haryana and held Union cabinet posts. Kuldeep completed a Bachelor of Arts from D.A.V. College, Chandigarh (1990–91). He is married to Renuka Bishnoi; the couple have three children — two sons, Bhavya and Chaitanya, and a daughter, Sia.

Career
Kuldeep Bishnoi has combined roles in politics, social work, business and agriculture throughout his public life. He first won the Adampur assembly seat in 1998, a constituency his family had represented continuously since 1968. He entered national politics as a Lok Sabha member for Bhiwani–Mahendragarh from 2004 to 2009 and later represented Hisar in Parliament from 2011 to 2014.

In 2007 he launched the Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) (BL) after parting ways with the Indian National Congress. The new party contested nearly the entire state in the 2009 assembly elections and won seven seats; Bishnoi retained Adampur. Legal challenges followed when several HJC legislators switched allegiance to the Congress, and the Punjab and Haryana High Court later disqualified those defectors.

Bishnoi has navigated several alliances and party changes. After an HJC alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) around 2011, he later merged HJC back into the Indian National Congress in 2016 and served as a Special Invitee to the Congress Working Committee. He was re-elected from Adampur in 2019. In June 2022 he was removed from his Congress posts and, days later, resigned his assembly seat and joined the BJP in August 2022. His legislative service includes multiple terms as a member of the Haryana Legislative Assembly for Adampur, and earlier terms in the Lok Sabha.
