Early life and background
Kunal Thakur was born on 12 July 1988 in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, UAE. He grew up in Dubai and completed his school education at Abu Dhabi Indian School between 1998 and 2006. He later moved into higher education, earning a Bachelor of Commerce from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management in Pune and an MA in Marketing from Royal Holloway, University of London. He also completed a diploma in cyber law and studied event management at the EMDI Institute of Media and Communication in Mumbai.

Career
Thakur began his professional life in research and marketing roles in the UK and the UAE, working as an intern and marketing executive before taking account and business manager positions in Dubai and New Delhi. While building his corporate experience he also modelled for print advertisements and walked international and national runways, appearing at events such as Indian Fashion Week, Pakistan Fashion Week, Fashion Middle East and other fashion showcases.
