Lakshmi Manchu was born Manchu Lakshmi Prasanna on 8 October 1977 in Chennai, India. She grew up in Chennai and holds Indian nationality. Lakshmi completed her higher education at Oklahoma City University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in theatre. Her family includes her father, actor Mohan Babu, and stepmother Nirmala Manchu (also referred to as Vidya Manchu in some accounts). Her brothers are Vishnu Manchu and Manoj Manchu.
