Early life and background

Lalit Prabhakar Bhadane was born on 12 September 1987 in Kalyan, Maharashtra, and grew up in Kalyan and Samode in Dhule district. He attended Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Palghar and went on to study at B.K. Birla College of Arts, Science & Commerce in Kalyan, where he completed a BSc in Computer Science. He also attended Government Law College, Mumbai. His parents are Prabhakar Bhadane, who worked as a professor at an Industrial Training Institute, and Hemlata Bhadane, a teacher. He has a brother, Aakash Prabhakar, who is a singer.

From an early age Lalit took part in school acting competitions and became involved in local theatre. He joined the theatre group Mitee-Chaar Kalyan and trained under theatre artist Ravindra Lakhe. Those formative experiences in stage performance helped shape his approach to acting and direction.

Career

Lalit began his on-screen career in Marathi television. One of his early TV roles was in Jeevlaga (2008) as Vallabh Desai on Star Pravah, and he later appeared in serials such as Aabhas Ha and Kunku (both 2011), Julun Yeti Reshimgathi (2013) — the role of Aditya Desai in which brought him wider attention — and Dil Dosti Duniyadari (2015), all on Zee Marathi.

He moved between theatre and screen, performing in and directing stage productions. His theatre credits include plays such as Takshakyag (2014), Invisible City (2015), Dhol Tashe (2016) and Pati Gele Ga Kathewadi (2017). He also directed Invisible City.

On film, Lalit made his Marathi film debut in Chi Va Chi Sau Ka (2017) as Satyaprakash. His film work since has included Hampi (2017), Anandi Gopal (2019), Medium Spicy (2022), Sunny (2022) and Tarri (2023). His performances in Anandi Gopal and other projects have been recognised with several industry awards.

Lalit has also worked in digital series. His web credits include The Raikar Case (Hindi, 2020 on Voot), Shantit Kranti (Marathi, 2021 on SonyLIV) and Pet Puraan (Marathi, 2022 on SonyLIV). He took part as a guest celebrity on the reality show Bigg Boss Marathi 3 in 2021.
