Early life and background

Lauren Katie Bell was born on 2 January 2001 in Swindon, Wiltshire, England. Raised in a sporting family, she attended Loughborough University and completed a degree in sports science. Her mother is Morag Bell, who worked as a teacher, and her father is Andy. She has a sister, Colette Bell, who also plays cricket.

Bell grew up playing multiple sports. Before concentrating on cricket she represented her county in football and athletics and played football with Reading’s youth setup up until the age of 16. She began her cricket journey at Hungerford Cricket Club and became the first girl to play for Bradfield College. At 14 she made her county debut for Berkshire in the Women’s County Championship.

Career

A tall right-arm fast-medium bowler (listed at 1.83 m / 6'0"), Bell established herself on the domestic scene with Berkshire and later joined Southern Vipers. She has also appeared for Middlesex on loan and is part of Southern Brave in The Hundred.
