Early life and background

Ram Chander Tiwari completed his foundational military education at the National Defence Academy in Khadakwasla, Pune, followed by the one-year course at the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun. He went on to attend staff and higher defence institutions, earning a master's degree in strategic studies from the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington and an MPhil in National Security and Strategic Studies at the National Defence College in New Delhi. Career

Tiwari was commissioned into the Kumaon Regiment in 1987 and began his service in the infantry. Early postings included time in Belgaum where he completed initial military courses.
