Luv Ranjan was born on 29 September 1984 in Ghaziabad district, Uttar Pradesh. He grew up in the same region and attended St. Paul’s Academy in Ghaziabad before moving on to Hindu College at Delhi University. His upbringing and early education were rooted in Ghaziabad, which remains identified as his hometown.

Career
Ranjan began his film career assisting director Sunil Darshan on projects including Mere Jeevan Saathi, Dosti and Barsaat. After leaving that role in 2005, he pursued formal training in writing at the New York Film Academy. He launched his directorial debut with Pyaar Ka Punchnama in 2011 at the age of twenty-seven, a movie that brought him public recognition.
