Early life and background

Madhu Sharma was born on 13 December 1984 in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Raised in a middle-class family, she spent her early years in Jodhpur and later moved to Mumbai. Her parents are Laxmiram Sharma and Premlata Sharma. She attended R N Gandhi High School and studied commerce at R.D. National College and W.A. Science College. As a child she wanted to pursue medicine, though her mother encouraged her toward acting. Madhu lists travelling and dancing among her hobbies and follows Hinduism.

Career

Madhu Sharma began working in films as a teenager. Her on-screen career started in Tamil cinema with the 1998 film Guru Paarvai, where she appeared as a young actress. She went on to expand her résumé across several Indian film industries: her Hindi film debut came with Hum Hain Pyaar Mein in 2003; she entered Telugu cinema with That is Pandu in 2005 and also appeared in the Kannada film Ugra Narasimha that same year.

After several years in South Indian films, Madhu transitioned into Bhojpuri cinema. She made her Bhojpuri debut in 2013 with Ek Duje Ke Liye, sharing screen space with Dinesh Lal Yadav and Pawan Singh. Over the following years she became a familiar face in Bhojpuri movies, appearing in titles such as Chhapara Ke Prem Kahani (2014), Yodhha (2014), Ghulami (2015), Khiladi (2016), Challenge (2017), Maa Tujhe Salaam (2018) and Jai Hind (2019). Her pairing with Dinesh Lal Yadav drew particular audience attention, and she has worked with many leading actors in the industry including Dinesh Lal Yadav, Ravi Kishan, Pawan Singh and Khesari Lal Yadav.
