Malav Ashwin Dani is an Indian businessman from Mumbai known for leadership roles in family-linked companies including Asian Paints and Hitech Corporation.

Early life and background
Malav Ashwin Dani was born on 26 November 1975 in Mumbai and raised in a family closely associated with the founding of Asian Paints. He grew up in a household where business and community life were intertwined: his grandfather, Suryakant Dani, was one of the co-founders of Asian Paints, and his father, Ashwin Dani, served as a long-time leader of the company until his death in 2023.

Malav completed a Bachelor of Science in Business Management at Purdue University (1995–1999) and later earned an MBA from Columbia Business School (2002–2004). During his student years he won the Burton D. Morgan Business Plan Competition in 1999. He is conversant in English, Gujarati and Hindi, and follows Veda philosophy and the yoga tradition associated with B. K. S. Iyengar, a practice shared by his parents.

Career
Malav Dani has built a career across family enterprises and other corporate roles. Early post-graduate experience included a range of certifications and leadership training at General Electric from 1999 to 2005, covering information management, ERP implementation, audit staff assignments, acquisitions and integration, and Quality Six Sigma Black Belt training. At GE he later served as Treasury Digitization Leader.

His involvement with the family group includes board positions across a number of entities connected to the Dani family. He has been a Non-executive Director and Chairman of the CSR Committee at Asian Paints and is listed as a director or board member across companies such as Suryakant Paint Accessories Private Limited, Clear Mipak Packaging Solutions, Homevilla Yoga Private Limited, Canes Venatici Trading, Suprasad Investments and Trading Company Private Limited, Rayirth Holding and Trading Company Private Limited, and others. In 2011 he became a director of Sattava Holding and Trading, a private investment firm that holds a stake in Asian Paints.

From 2007 to 2022 Malav served as an executive at Hitech Group, a BSE-listed plastics and packaging company. He rose through roles including Senior Manager for Quality and Customer Centricity at Asian Paints (2005–2006), Joint Managing Director of Hitech Group in 2011, and subsequently Managing Director.
