Early life and background

Malina Joshi was born on 27 January 1989 in Dharan, Nepal. Raised in a family that includes her parents Madhav Prasad Joshi and Mina Joshi, she grew up alongside a brother, Suraz Joshi, and a sister, Nukina Joshi. She attended Vijayapur Higher Secondary School and Dharan Higher Secondary School before pursuing higher education at the Ace Institute of Management in Baneswar, where she completed an MBA in Marketing.

She identifies with Hinduism and her listed caste is Brahmin. From an early age she showed an interest in performance and public presentation, hobbies she describes as dancing, photography, watching cricket, and travelling.
