Early life and backgroundManoj Pahwa was born on 8 December 1963 in Delhi. He grew up in a Punjabi family with roots that include connections to Uttar Pradesh and areas that are now in Pakistan. His father ran a garage in Delhi, and Manoj spent time helping the family business before moving toward a career in acting. He attended National Public School in New Delhi and participated in local stage productions, Ramleela and amateur theatre, during his formative years.
After his father passed away, Manoj managed the family’s automotive-parts business for a period as the eldest child.
