Manoj Patil Biography

Indian bodybuilder and model Manoj Patil rose from a modest upbringing in Kolhapur to win national and international bodybuilding honors. Known for his IFB

Early life and background

Manoj Patil was born on 1 November 1992 in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Raised in a middle-class household, he began working odd jobs in his early teens—delivering newspapers, selling milk and washing cars—to help support his family. As a slender youth, Patil took up gym training to gain weight and quickly developed a passion for fitness that would shape his future career.

He attended Dnyansagar Vidyalaya in Jogeshwari West, Mumbai, and later studied at the University of Mumbai. Patil grew up in Kolhapur and maintains ties to the region as the place where he was raised.

Career

Patil transitioned from a gym enthusiast into a competitive bodybuilder in his late teens. By age 21 he won his first major title, claiming gold in the Junior Mr. Mumbai bodybuilding competition. Over the following years he collected a string of domestic and international accolades: Mr. India Men’s Physique (2016), a silver at the National Championship (2017), silver at Olympia India (2018), bronze at Olympia Italy (2018), and silver at Olympia China (2019). He also represented India at Mr. Olympia Amateur.

A career milestone came in 2019 when he won the Sheru Classic IFBB Pro Card in the overall Men’s Physique category, an achievement he described as the highlight of his athletic journey.

In addition to competing, Patil worked as a model for print campaigns tied to fitness products and provided personal training to Indian entertainers, including Shahid Kapoor, Himansh Kohli and Neha Kakkar. He plays several sports recreationally—cricket and football among them—and includes regular running in his training routine.

Public profile

Patil appears on social media under the name IFBB Pro, and his online presence includes posts that show his interest in animals and spirituality. He has a distinctive tattoo on the left side of his neck that reads "Champ." Physically, he is listed at about 168 cm (5'6") in height, with a competitive weight near 85 kg (187 lbs) and reported chest, waist and biceps measurements of approximately 48 inches, 34 inches and 20 inches respectively. His eye and hair color are described as black.

Personal life

Patil is married; his wife’s name has not been publicly listed in the available information. His parents are D. A. Patil and Seema Patil, and he has two sisters, one of whom is named Aarti Patil. He follows a non-vegetarian diet, is described as religious, and has been open about his fondness for dogs. He owns a Maruti Suzuki vehicle that he purchased himself.

Challenges and controversies

Patil has been involved in a public dispute with fellow bodybuilder and former actor Sahil Khan. The disagreement escalated over social media posts and alleged harassment; in 2021 Patil filed a complaint alleging defamation and sustained harassment. On 16 September 2021 Patil attempted suicide by ingesting pills and was admitted to Cooper Hospital in Mumbai. A note recovered at the time referenced the harassment he said he faced and its impact on his family and career. Various individuals and representatives provided statements to police and media following the incident, and Sahil Khan publicly denied responsibility for the events Patil described.

Latest updates

Patil has spoken in interviews about the long and difficult path to professional bodybuilding, saying it took him over a decade to reach the level he attained and that he remains a work in progress. He continues to be identified with the IFBB Pro circuit and with the Men’s Physique category for which he earned his pro card.
