Milind Safai was born on 8 June 1970 in Pune, Maharashtra. He completed his schooling at Nutan Marathi Vidyalaya and went on to graduate from Sir Parashurambhau College (S. P. College) in Pune. Before pursuing acting full time, Safai worked at the State Bank of India.

Safai began his performing career in theatre and later transitioned into Marathi television and film. On television he appeared in shows such as Raja Shivchatrapati (in 2010, credited as Adil Shah), Pudhcha Paaul (2011), 100 Days (2016), Sang Tu Aahes Ka?
