Early life and background

Mohammad Nabi Eisakhil was born into a Pashtun family with roots in the Eisakhail subtribe. His family lived in Peshawar, Pakistan, where he attended Usmania Model School and began playing cricket with a tennis ball at around age ten. His early training continued at Arshad Khan’s academy in Peshawar. Nabi later returned to Afghanistan around 2000 and developed into a key member of the national side.

Career

Nabi established himself as a genuine all‑rounder for Afghanistan, batting right‑handed and bowling right‑arm off‑spin. He made his One Day International debut on 19 April 2009 against Scotland and scored a fifty in that first ODI. His Twenty20 International debut came on 1 February 2010, and he played in Afghanistan’s first T20I and in the 2010 T20 World Cup.
