Mohit Chhikara was born on 30 October 1993 in Delhi, India, and grew up in a family with roots in Sonipat, Haryana. He attended Delhi Public School and went on to study mechanical engineering at the Delhi Institute of Technology & Management. His father served as a deputy security officer before retirement, and Mohit has two sisters, Jyoti Chhikara Bhuwal and Bindu Chikkara.

From a young age Mohit was active in performing arts. During his college years he took part in dance and acting and competed on stage, including walking the ramp for a prominent fashion event where he earned trophies on more than one occasion.
