Mohit Rajinder Magotra was born on 9 July in Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir. Raised in a middle-class family, he spent his school years at Army Public School, Akhnoor, where participation in sports helped shape his stamina and teamwork abilities. He later completed a degree in Information & Technology from MIET Engineering College, Tiruchirappalli.

Mohit’s early interest in performance led him to the stage. While in Jammu he joined Natrang, a local theatre institution, and took part in regular rehearsals, voice training and stagecraft practice.
