Early life and background
Mounima Bhatla was born on 5 November 1992 in Tadepalligudem, West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh, and spent much of her childhood after relocating with her family to Hyderabad in 2004. She completed her school education at Little Flower Junior College in Hyderabad and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Aurora Degree College (affiliated with Osmania University). Later she pursued a master’s degree in Business Administration, specializing in Arts, Entertainment and Media Management, from the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto.

Musical training was a part of her formative years: she and her sister received instruction in Carnatic music from Vyzarsu Balasubrahmanyam and studied light music at the Little Musicians Academy. Those studies laid the groundwork for a career that began with devotional and event singing and expanded into film playback and on-screen roles.

Career
Mounima’s first noted screen credit came in 2016 with a role as Monica in the web series Stages of Love. Her breakthrough in music came earlier, however, when composer M. M. Keeravani noticed her at a local singing competition and invited her to audition. That led to recording the song “Sivuni Aana” for the 2015 Telugu film Baahubali: The Beginning; she also recorded the Hindi track “Kaun Hain Voh” for the same production. She returned to the Baahubali franchise in 2017, lending vocals to “Saahore Baahubali” for Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.

Following those high-profile film songs, Mounima continued studio work for Telugu cinema, contributing tracks such as “Ninnu Road Meedha” and “Savyasachi” for the film Savyasachi (2018). Alongside playback singing she has appeared in short films and music videos, with credits including the short Mana Mugguri Love Story and videos such as Maayee and Paravasamai.

Mounima’s screen work extends across web series: she played a journalist named Jahnavi/Jaanu in Gangstars (2018), appeared in Maa Vintha Gaadha Vinumain (2020), and was part of Aham Bhramhasmi (2021). Her early onscreen experience began in short-format productions and music videos before moving into longer-form streaming content.

Parallel to her creative pursuits, Mounima has held a variety of roles in corporate and media organizations. From March 2018 to January 2020 she worked as an artist marketing specialist.
