Early life and background

Mrinmayee Godbole was born on 6 February 1988 in Pune, Maharashtra, into a Maharashtrian family. She completed her schooling at NCL English Medium School in Pune and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Fergusson College in 2010. Her father is Shrirang Godbole and her mother is Geeta Godbole. She has a brother, Suhrud Godbole, who works in film as a director, producer, and writer. Through marriage she is related to actress Girija Oak.

Career

Godbole began her screen career in Marathi cinema, making her film debut in 2011 in Teecha Baap Tyacha Baap, where she played Monica Deshmukh. Over the next decade she established herself in regional films while also taking roles in Hindi-language projects and digital series.

In 2016 she appeared in the ensemble film CRD as Persis. The following year she played the lead role of Savitri in the Marathi film Chi Va Chi Sau Ka, portraying a vegan veterinarian with skills in kung fu. Her filmography includes roles in Ye Re Ye Re Paisa 2 (2019) as Sara Desai, Jhimma (2021) as Rama Lele-Shah, Vishu (2022) as Morpishi, and Toh, Ti Ani Fuji (2023). In 2022 she was seen in the Hindi film Aye Zindagi as Manjula Nair.

On the Hindi film front, Godbole had a role in Pad Man (2018) as Sonali Chauhan. She has also worked in web series: Once A Year (2019) on MX Player as Raavi, and High (2020) on MX Player as Ashima Chauhan. In 2023 she appeared on the Amazon Prime Video series Farzi as Advocate Stuti Das. That same year she played Dr. Amrita in the feature film Animal.
