Namanveer Singh Brar was born on 14 June 1993 in Faridkot, Punjab. Raised in a family that later relocated to Mohali to support his sporting pursuits, he attended St. John’s High School in Chandigarh and The Lawrence School, Sanawar in Himachal Pradesh. He completed his undergraduate studies at DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh, and went on to do postgraduate work at Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Career

Brar took up shooting while in the second year of his undergraduate studies and began formal training at the Moti Bagh Shooting Range in Patiala. He trained under coach Amanendra Mann during his college years. Over the course of his sporting career he established himself as a national-level trap shooter and also worked as a lawyer.

On the international university circuit he achieved notable results. He won a gold medal at the World University Games in Finland in 2013. Later, he earned a bronze at the All India University Shooting Championship in 2015 and another bronze at the 2015 World University Games in Gwangju, South Korea. He was also part of the Indian Universities team that won a team bronze at the World University Games in 2016, according to his college coach. Domestically he accumulated several medals across national tournaments and was ranked fourth in the Minimum Qualification Score (MQS) category at the Delhi Shooting World Cup during his competitive career.

Beyond competing, Brar offered professional training to emerging shooters, sharing the experience he gained on the range and at international events.
