Naveen Gupta trained in engineering and business. He completed a B.Tech in Electronics and Communications at Kurukshetra University (2004–2008) and went on to study marketing at Nyenrode Business University in the Netherlands, where he earned an M.Sc. in Marketing and completed courses in marketing channels, retailing, market intelligence and international brand management. He later added an MBA in International Business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi.

Gupta attended multiple schools in northern India, including Convent of Jesus & Mary in Ambala Cantt., St. Anne's Convent School in Chandigarh, and Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 33, Chandigarh. He is Indian by nationality.

Career

Gupta began gaining industry experience while still a student. His earliest recorded role was an internship at Bharti Airtel in 2006, where he learned GSM network concepts and value‑added services. He followed that with a short internship at Nokia Siemens Networks in 2007, where he was recognized as the best intern, and a three‑month internship at Percept Knorigin in 2010. During his M.Sc. studies he developed an India entry strategy for a Dutch firm, Metris B.V., an effort that earned appreciation from the company’s international marketing manager.

After completing his formal studies, Gupta joined Hero MotoCorp Ltd in New Delhi as a management trainee in 2011. In September 2014 Gupta moved to redBus in Bengaluru as Manager of International Business Development. He was promoted to Business Manager in July 2015 and given broad responsibility for business strategy, unit economics, supply acquisition, offline marketing, affiliates, B2B product management, operations and establishing teams and offices in Singapore and Malaysia. In October 2018 redBus elevated him to Associate Director.

Gupta joined food delivery platform Swiggy in March 2019 as City Head for New Delhi, overseeing supply, growth, operations and P&L for the Delhi/NCR region. He was promoted to Business Director in January 2021 with P&L responsibility for Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

After a stint as National Sales Head at CARS24 in Gurugram, he was appointed Vice President and Country Head for India at Zoomcar on 28 November 2022. The appointment was positioned as a strategic hire to support Zoomcar’s expansion of its marketplace across India.
