Neeti Palta was born on 11 February 1980 in Agra and grew up in a family with a military background; her father, Anand Prakash Palta, is a retired Army personnel. She spent parts of her schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 in Colaba, Mumbai and The Army Public School in New Delhi. Neeti went on to study at Delhi University and later completed a Master of Journalism & Mass Communication from the Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication in Pune. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English.

Career

Before becoming a full-time performer, Neeti spent about twelve years working in advertising, where she rose to the position of senior art director at JWT (J. Walter Thompson). During that period she also began writing for television, debuting as a scriptwriter on the children's programme Galli Galli Sim Sim in 2006. Her writing credits extend to film as well; she worked on the screenplay for the Bollywood movie O Teri.
