Neha Dhupia was born on 27 August 1980 in Cochin (Kochi), Kerala. She grew up in a family where her father served in the Indian Navy. Neha attended Naval Public School in Kochi and later Army Public School in Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi. She completed her college education at Jesus and Mary College, New Delhi, graduating with a degree in History.

Career
Neha began performing at a young age, making an early on-screen appearance as a child artist in the Malayalam film Minnaram (1994). She built a varied career that spans stage, films in multiple languages, television and digital media. Before entering mainstream cinema she was active in theatre in New Delhi and continues to describe a strong attachment to stage work.

Her filmography includes debuts and roles across different industries: a Japanese film in 2000, Telugu and Bollywood projects in 2003, a Pakistani film in 2008 and a Punjabi film in 2013.
