Nimratpal Kaur Khaira was born on 22 December 1992 in Mustafapur, Punjab, India. Raised in a Punjabi family, she completed her schooling at D.A.V. School in Batala and went on to study at HMV College, Jalandhar, before enrolling at Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar. She holds a postgraduate degree in vocal music from Guru Nanak Dev University. Her parents worked in government service—her father in the forest department and her mother as a teacher.
