Nissar Khan was born on 4 May 1969 in Malerkotla, Punjab. Growing up in Punjab, he developed an early interest in theatre while still at school and pursued acting through his college years. He completed his graduation and later took an acting course at the National School of Drama in New Delhi, which helped shape his foundation as a performer.

Career

Khan began his career on stage and remains rooted in theatre. Over the years he has performed in prominent productions including Mughal-E-Azam: The Musical, in which he portrays Emperor Jalal-ud-din Muhammad Akbar, and the play Arre O’Henry. His stage work built a platform for a screen career that spans television, films and short-format projects.

His earliest listed film credit is Tum Mere Ho (1990). On television, he made his TV debut in the serial Naa Aana Iss Des Laado (2009) playing Joginder Sangwan, a role that brought him wider recognition and an award for supporting actor.
