Nita Ambani was born on 1 November 1963 in Mumbai, India. She grew up in a middle-class joint family; her parents are Ravindrabhai Dalal and Purnima Dalal. She completed her higher education at Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai, graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce.

Her family includes a sister, Mamta Dalal, who has worked in education, and her grandfather worked as a French professor in Calcutta. Nita trained in Bharatanatyam from a young age and has long had an interest in teaching and the performing arts.

Career

Nita Ambani became involved in philanthropic and educational initiatives after her marriage. She founded and serves as chairperson of Reliance Foundation, the philanthropic arm associated with the Reliance group.
